Search the web in a chat

Models only know what they learned up to a point in time. Web search gives them fresh results for your question.

How to use it

Tap the globe (Search the web) next to the message box. While it’s on, each message you send runs one web search on your question. The results go to the model, and the reply cites them with numbers like [1], with a Sources list underneath.

Web search stays on for the chat until you turn it off. It works with every model. For questions about recent events, results favour the latest news.

What it costs

1¢ per searched message, on top of the message itself.

• If the search fails, the fee is refunded and the reply says “Web search failed — answered without sources.”
• If your balance can’t cover the search, it’s skipped and your message is still answered (“Web search skipped — not enough usage balance.”).
• If nothing is found: “Web search found no results for this message.”
