A reply failed or stopped

When a reply fails, the reason appears in red under it. The Regenerate button (circular arrow) tries again. If the reply failed before it was saved, retrying won’t charge you twice.

Your balance

  • “Your balance can’t cover this message at actual cost… nothing was charged.” — top up or subscribe. Your message is kept. See Why didn’t my message send?.
  • “Generation stopped — balance ran out. The partial answer was charged at actual cost.” — the reply stopped part-way. Top up, then Continue.

A reply stopped early

  • “Stopped” — you pressed Stop. You keep and pay for what was written.
  • “Stopped at the model’s output limit.” — the model reached its maximum reply length. Tap Continue to carry on, or ask it to continue.

The reply names a different model

That’s a disclosed switch, not an error. See Reading a reply: Served by, cost and notices.

Still stuck?

Contact support with the model, roughly when it happened, and the error text.
